Kingry, a whole new style of working out!

Kingry, also called the soul cycle of dance, is a whole new style of working out. This form of workout, which stands for kin (as in family) and kinesthetic plus energy, was invented by Julianne Hough.

The Kingry trifecta is a movement to connect with your physical body. Focusing on breathwork to stimulate your brain and nervous system, and activating your imagination to create possibility to make your dreams a reality.

What is Kingry?

It’s a 45-minute-long workout, and there’s a lot going on in that time. “It’s a high-sensory activated dance method,” Julianne says. “We open up our senses, so we open up our imagination and connect to nature’s elements.” Oh, and there are zero mirrors to distract you or make you judge your performance, since the method is designed to help you stay present.

It allows you to surrender your mind to the wisdom of your body and arrive in an expanded state known as the KINRGY State – an optimal state for deep, energetic awareness and transformation. Once you arrive in this state, you realise that you are purely energy. This energy pushes you past your fears, self doubt, limitations and helps to connect you to your truest self.

“Have you ever asked yourself—how can I be more confident? Fit? Energized? Happy? Or more importantly, how can I live my most extraordinary life?”

Everything in this world, including us, is made up from Earth, Water, Fire, Air. That’s why they believe in taking you on a journey to discover your inner elements.

  • Earth – Our foundation, inner warrior and strength
  • Fire – Unleashes our inner confidence through primal, and high intensity cardiovascular aerobic exercises
  • Water – Invites us to find our flow, unlocks our creativity and our sensuality within
  • Air – Our breath and also our lifeforce, which connects us to the vast open space of truth
  • Aether – The full body surrender, to let the present moment wash over you completely.

Kingry effects on your brain

BrainBody, created by Dr. Wendy Suzuki, Professor of Neural Science and Psychology at New York University, an AI-based platform that quantifies exercise-enhanced brain functions.

An exciting pilot program between KINRGY and BrainBody in 2020, resulted in significant brain improvements on at least one of the following measures: energy, focus and attention, anxiety, depression and hostility. KINRGY is improving both mood/mental health as well as cognitive functions.

Top 3 Brain Responses:

  • 93% of KINRGY workouts showed decreased Anxiety
  • 92% of KINRGY workouts showed decreased Depression
  • 92% of KINRGY workouts showed increased Energy

It’s time to step out of your comfort zone and transform your life!

“Once you learn to release inhibitions, you’ll get more comfortable venturing out of your comfort zone. You’ll also start moving towards the things that will both enrich your life and make it easier to incorporate meaningful changes when you want or need to.”

I’ve tried one of Julianne’s classes on the FitOn app, which is completely free. And I must say, it’s definitely something that you would want to do in a closed room, or away from other people at first. If you’re not the most comfortable with expressive dancing. But in saying that, it’s also extremely freeing, and I felt more comfortable with my body straight afterwards, which was an incredible feeling.

If you try Kingry, please let us know! We would love to know what your experience was!
